AUCKLAND EXHIBITION

SOUTHLAND COURT. 11 is understood that as the result of a fairly persistent canvass of the town there is every prospect of Southland being well represented at the Auckland Exhibition. Tradespeople have responded very encouragingly, and the space applied for is sufficient to make a highly satisfactory exhibit. All that is now required is that the financial considerations be placed on the same footing. If the appeal made to the local bodies is responded lo as lias been done by the Southland County Council and the Town Council, the success of the Southland court is assured. A circular has been isued to all the dairy factories in the district and if. as is suggested therein, one cheese is presented by each factory a most imposing pyramid could be erected. Those who are at the hack of the movement to make the court a success hold the opinion that there is even yet a great deal of enterprise lying latent in Invercargill, and a good deal more eagerness could be displayed in connection with (he entry of exhibits. Only a limited time is now allowed the committee to conclude arrangements, and it is imperative that those who intend to exhibit should communicate with the secretary. Mr ,1. T. Prain. The Southland exhibits will include motor cars, gigs, engines, wool, grain, timber, coffee. Hour, saddlery, coal, cutlery. bacon, aerated waters, printing, plumbing and drapery. Encouragement up lo the present is distinctly good, but the committee have made provision for ail branches of industry, and those who have not any exhibits to send forward hut who wdsh to assist may do so by contribut ions.
