With reference to the cabled report concerning labour for Waihi mine a reporter was informed that the Company was unable to secure sufficient men since the strike last year. Some difficulty was also experienced owing to a clause in the agreement between the Miners’ Union and tho Company. The men employed had to belong to the Union, but the Union refused to accept some men selected by the Company.
