SUGGESTED COUNTER-DEMONSTRA-TION. AN APPEAL THAT FAILED. (By Telegraph.—Pier* Association.—Copyright). LONDON. March 31. Received March 31, 11.30 p.m. In view of the almost general celebration of Empire Day in the schools, the British Socialists circularised Labour organisations urging them as a counter demonstration to withdraw their children from the schools. The Trades Council at Newcastle-on-Tyne refused, and indications are that the bulk of Trade Unionists have resolved to bold aloof from the proposal.
