FULLERS’ PICTURES. The programme which will be introduced at the Zcalandia Hall to-night is one that should meet with the entire approbation of patrons, as many of the films to be shown promise to be exceptionally interesting. Chief in point of interest will be a fine film depicting the battleship New Zealand, and the visit by the King while she was lying at Portsmouth. As the New Zealand is due to reach these shores shortly, added Interest should be taken in this picture, and it should make a strong appeal to the patriotic feeling of the audience. “The Power of Silence” 1s said to be a remarkable production telling a stirring drama of Western life, and gives a vivid presentment of the dignity of a strong character and a firm will. “Ireland Oppressed” Is a dramatic study of great merit, comprising a realistic evi'etioh scene and the adventures of a priest, who cleverly eludes the soldiers. “Calino Tries to Get The Sack” is an amusing comedy, and the many funny situations that arise .are sure to provoke the audience to mirth. The other films are all good ones, and help to make up a very strong series. SATWABS’S PICTT7B.E3. The concluding runs of the programme current on Saturday last with the excellent feature film from Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress” as the “star” brought excellent attendances, and the managerial assertion that If was In the lead of any previous production screened to many minds at least would be amply justified. This gives place to-night to a new ■ series, which it is said quite sustains the reputation of this popular resort. Despite the disorganised condition of railway transit and telegraphic communication, the management have their film arrangements well in hand, and they will arrive by the northern steamer at Bluff. Among the collection will be found choice selections from the most popular producers, including Vitagraph, Edison, Lubln, Pathe, etc. A splendid picture Is said to be the Vitagraph subject “A Model for St. John.” Numerous other dramatic comedy, scenic, and topical subjects are Included, and Pathe’s European Gazette is always a welcome inclusion. The bi-weekly half-guinea will again be awarded. BA&TO9T BBOS.’ CIBCTJS, Bartons’ Circus, Wild West, and Vaudeville Hippodrome will make thejr first appearance in Invercargill, commencing a short season on Thursday. April 3rd. for three nights only. The location is Roche’s paddock, near the Hospital. Mr E. J. Barton mad© an extensive tour of overseas in search of new artists, and has succeeded in securing what is now claimed as the most expensive circus outfit that has yet toured this dominion. The chief feature of the show is contributed by the Henley, Marguerite, and Henley, the £4O-a--week artists. This act must be seen to be believed. The Baker family, ten aerial artists, somersault riders and tumblers, are a show in themselves. The Bakers defy the law of gravitation, and perform a number of tricks in mid-air which other high grade stars could only perform on terra firma. A long list of other performers includes Miss Beberina, known ns “The Boneless Wonder.” Miss Kathleen Baker performs many wonderful feats on the flying trapeze, while “Happy Jackies,” the funny clown, keeps the audience in high good humour during the performance with his quips and jests. Roy Barton and Hugo Frankino will perform some dangerous tricks, turning flipflaps and somersaults on galloping horses. A grand matinee will be given on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m., for school children, and people living at a distance. The Circus Band will give an open-air concert outside the big tents from 7 p.m. until 7.55.
