FIRES
(Per United Press Association). DUNEDIN, December 29. A fire occurred in Butler Bros, threestorey warehouse in Water street at 2 a.m. to-day. When discovered it had a strong hold; hut the Brigade arrived smartly, and soon had control. With exception of a collar maker, all those connected witli the premises are out of town, and no particulars are available. The damage by fire and water will probably amount to several hundred pounds. ROTORUA, December 28. Lee and McKenzie s sawmill, near Mamuka. was destroyed by fire on Christmas day. The mill had closed down for the holidays and only two men were in charge. The machinery was diunaged considerablD^_^___________^
