ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A STRANGE FATALITY. (Per United Press Association). WANGANUI, December 27. A man named Chas. John Denny, aged about -12, met his death early this morning under sad and strange circumstance:. He rented a room in a boardinghouse, and lately ho had been unwell, but refused advice to go to the hospital. Last night, being probably in a high fever, lie had a bath, but his fellow hoarders carried him back to bed. Later Denny got out of bed. and walked off the verandah roof, sustaining injuries from which he died In the hospital. Denny sei ccd in the South ’ African war, where he was wounded, and for which he received a pension. His body was very emaciated. It is unknown if he lias any relatives in Now Zealand. A letter from his brother in Paris was found in his effects. ______________
