The annual primaries in New York favour Mr Taft’s nomination for the Presidency. Mr Roosevelt characterised the methods used to secure his defeat as infamous. The primaries of New York had been arranged by means of trickery and fraud. LONDON. March “9. Received March 20. 10.10 p.m. The •■Times" Washington correspondent states that Mr Roosevelt is exasperated hy the number of tstate Conventions .declaring overwhelmingly against him. lie says that the fight is against representatives of the powers of pillage I and he has hinted that if defeated at the Convention lie might head a now party.
