Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cable from their head office dated - London, 13th November, 1911— Butter. —Market steady at present prices. Total imports into United Kingdom for week ending 4th November, 6G 000 cwt; do,, do., corresponding period last year, 65,000 cwt. We quote: New Zealand butter (salted) 1325, Danish 1355. Finest Australian salted 12Ss, unsalted 1325. Cheese. —Steady, but prices unchanged. Head office wired 9th Nov., 1911 —Copenhagen official quotation unchanged. Frozen Meat. —Unchanged except Canterbury mutton, which Is %d lower. WHEAT AND rLOUB. LONDON, November 12. The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom Is equal to 2.950.000 quarters, and for the Continent 1.355.000. Atlantic shipments, 218,000: Pacific, 41.000. The total shipments to Europe for the Week amounted to 1.315.000 quarters, including Argentine 56.000, Russian 390.000, Danublnn 260,000. Indian 114,000, and Australasian 100,000 quarters. ■ CLEARING SALE AT WAIMUMU. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report having held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr Robert McLean, Walmurriu, who has sold his farm, on Friday. There was a large attendance and the sale was a most successful one. Among the dairy herd some of the prices obtained wore;—£ 11 2s 6d. £lO ss, £9, £8 7s 6d, £S 15s, £8 2s 6d, £8 7s 6d. £7 10s. Included in the herd were a, number of early winter cal vers, but. of course, these were not In such keen demand and sold at somewhat lower prices. A four-year old gelding realised £27 10s, an aged mare £25 10s, and a 2-year-old filly and gelding brought £l4 and £l6 respectively. The implements and sundries all realised full market values. Several outside entries, including a line of sheep, wore also offered. The sheep were passed at auction but were sold immediately after the sale. The auctioneers desire to convey their thanks to Mrs McLean for the excellent luncheon provided and for her attention to the wants of the large number present during the afternoon. SALE AT MATAtmA. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report having held their usual Mataura sale on Thursday, when they offered about 440 sheep and 20 head of cattle. So far as the sheep were concerned the sale was a very dull one, most of the lines being passed. Old ewes with lambs brought 6s 6d (all counted). We offered a number of dairy cows most of which were’ disposed of at prices ranging up to £5 15s. Bulls brought £4 2s 6d" and £4 15 s.
