SIR JOSEPH WARD’S TOUR
The weather was most unpropitious yesterday yet the Prime Minister held to his engagements and went through his advertised itinerary. All along tho route he met with rousing receptions. The meetings were given as follow: Otatara. 11 a.m.; Tlsbury, 2 p.m.: Myro?s. 3.30 p.m.; Roslyn Bush, 5 p.m.; and Grove Bush, 7.30 p.m. Sir Joseph was accorded a fine hearing at each place, full schoolhouscs being the rule all round. At every one of tho five places mentioned he received unanimous votes of thanks and confidence. At Grove Bush special preparation had been made to give Sir Joseph a cordial welcome. The schoolhouse was tastefully decorated with ferns, flowers and evergreens, and the big audience gave the Prime Minister a stirring greeting. To-day Sir Jo~eph speaks at Fernhills, Llmchllls, Otaplrl Gorge and Browns. On Wednesday tho tour will conclude with meetings at Makarcwa and Waiklwi. and on the following morning Sir Joseph will leave by the early express, speaking at Palmerston South tho same evening, at Waimato on the 17th, and at Omnaru on the 18th, reaching Christchurch on Monday, tho 20th.
