Received November 12, 5.5 p.m. It is understood that -Mr Sonar Daw’s selection is due to Mr Joseph Chamberlain’s influence. The newspapers comment on the fact that he is a Canadian by birth. , Sir Edward Carson declined nomination owing to Socialist attacks. (This is the first intimatioon that Mr Sonar Daw has been definitely chosen to succeed Mr Balfour as leader of the Conservative party.) THE INSURANCE BIDE. LONDON, Nov. 10. It is understood that Mr Lloyd George concedes to Scotland equally with Ireland separate administration under the Insurance Bill.
