Fifty Australian cadets are camped at Bisley, seventy at the Crystal Palace, and seventy are visiting Hie provinces. The cadets will tour France and Germany, visiting the field of Waterloo. They will return by the Denjosthenes on August 31. HOMICIDE JUSTIFIED. LONDON, July 12. The Hon. Galbraith Lowry Cole has been acquitted of a charge of shooting and killing a native named Siongn, who was suspected of sheep stealing at Making!, British East Africa. Mr L. V. Hareourt, replying to a question, said that the official report of the trial would be published. CURED BY' SKIN GRAFTING. LONDON, July 12. Tiie wife of an Essex farmer lias been cured of the effects of a burning accident after many years of suffering: through twenty members of her family volunteering over 200 pieces of skin for grafting purposes. THE CHOLERA SCOURGE. ROME, July 12. The official inquiry shows that there were eighty cases of Asiatic cholera and twenty-six deaths at Palermo in a week, sixty cases and twenty-one deaths in Naples, and one hundred cases elsewhere in Italy. VIENNA, July 13. Received July 14, 12.5 a.m. Some cases of Asiatic cholera have occurred at Trieste. NEGLECTED CHILDREN. MELBOURNE, July 13. A shocking case of neglect came before the court, William Brown, a boot: maker, being fined £2O for neglecting to provide for his two young children. When taken to the hospital they were so hungry that they tried to eat a soup dipper, the only cooking utensil in tire house. THE CAUSE OF LUPUS. LONDON, July 12. The Tuberculosis Commission has ascertained more clearly that lupus bacillus in the majority of cases is undoubtedly due to a tuberculosis microbe of the bovine type. BALLOON RACING. NEW YORK, July 12. Lieutenants Lahm and Hart won the balloon race of 425 miles. They will represent the United States in the International race in October.
