HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
A meeting of the committee of the Southland Horticultural Society was held last evening. Archdeacon Stocker (president) occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of members. The reports of the various sub-com-mittees appointed, at the annual meeting were laid before the meeting and carefully considered, and with a few minor alterations were aadopted. It was decided that the schedule for the Daffodil Show be printed separately and with all possible speed so that it may be distributed at an early date. Committees were appointed to fix the amount of the prizes and to arrange for special prizes. All the schedules will be pushed on now, and it is hoped to have them in the printer’s hands at an early date. The monthly instruction meetings will commence in August next, and from all indications the society may look forward to a very successful year.
