Received July 14, 12.5 a.m. Forty Unionist members of the House of Commons, in sympathy with a lighting policy, met at Saint Stephens. There was a strong feeling against voluntary acceptance of the Parliament Bill. Many Unionists deprecated the holding of the meeting, not desiring to pledge the party to any particular line of action at the present juncture. THE INSURANCE BILL. LONDON, July 13. Received July 13, 10.30 p.m. The House of Commons discussed the sanatoria clause in the Insurance Bill. Mr Lloyd George promised that if local authorities paid half the expenses he would extend sanatorium benefits to ensured people’s wives and children.
