A scheme is afoot by city hairdressers to raise the price of a shave to fourpence and a haircut to nlnepence, with a corresponding Increase in journeymen’s wages. BRISBANE, March 16. The price of a haircut will be raised from sixpence to a shilling after May X. THE IMPLEMENT MAKERS. MELBOURNE, March 16. The president of the Federal Arbitration Court has called a compulsory conference with a view of settling the implement trade dispute. MANURE WORKERS ON STRIKE. MELBOURNE, March 16. There is a strike in the artificial manure trade, and several hundred men are out. The men demand a shilling an hour. The present wages are six to seven shillings a day.
