During the recent severe gales in the Solomon Islands the Government steamer Pelama was driven ashore and totally wrecked. The crew escaped. The schooner Leveuswa was also wrecked on the Island of Santiana. The crew got safely ashore. The storms did considerable damage in the grpup.
