PLAGUE IN CHINA.
SHOCKING STATE OF AFFAIRS POWEES ASKED TO INVESTIGATE. (By Telegraph,—Press Association. —Copyright.) PEKING, Jan. 24. Received Jan. 24, 9.20 p.m. There are 200 deaths daily from plague at Fuchianshou, and 300 daily at Harbin. China has addressed a circular to the Powers asking them to send experts to investigate the plague. China will defray expenses, Including travelling and maintenance. The scourge is not ratborne, but appears to be due to contact with carcases. It is also carried by bears. The outbreak in cold weather in places where plague has hitherto been unknown is causing apprehension.
