WELSH TRAINS COLLIDE.

A SHOCKING DISASTER. MANY PEOPLE KILLED. (Bj T«U(fr»pb—Freni Association—Copyright). LONDON. Jan. 23. A collision occurred between passenger and coal trains at Rhondda Valley, in Wales. The carriages were telescoped, entrapping the passengers. The collision took place near Pontypridd. A train with 300 passengers overtook a coal train, and several carriages were wrecked. The front of the guard's van was hurled on top of the first of the telescoped carriages. The driver and fireman of the passenger train were thrown into an embankment, and escaped unhurt. Councillors George and Tom Harris and W. Morgan, members of the Miners’ Executive, who were going to attend a meeting at Cardiff, and Rev. W. Powell, Methodist clergyman, are among those killed. Ghastly scenes were witnessed by the rescue parties. The bodies of eight men and three children have been recovered. They include three members of the South Wales Miners’ Exeputive.
