AN ATHOL ROAD.

(To the Kill tor.) Sir. —Will you kindly grant mo space for these few lines in the columns ol: your valuable- paper to draw the attention of the Railway Department to a small piece of road situated at the south end of Athol railway goodshed. This piece of road a year or two back was in splendid order for trainc until tb.e railway line was relaid and ballasted and then all the large stones were thrown right on to this piece of road. I mean all stones that were too large for the railway, and the consequence is they have spoilt the road, and the surfacemen never seem to be going to 10move them. The Department would have conferred a blessing on the community if they had left well alone or else given the surfacemen an additional holiday if they had no better employment to give theni.-l am, etc., RESIDENT.
