The weekly meeting of Hie central brand! of the Invercargill Boy Scouts ivas held in the headquarters club‘room (Y.M.C.A.) on Tuesday evening last, when a large volume of business was discussed. Owing to the fast increas-ing-membership, the whole of this branch of the scout, movement Avas rearranged into twp.'troops,' viz. IV and V Invercargill trobps,.y consisting altogether of six patrols. ' The subject of attending tiie Otago Scouts camp at Henley next Christmas was discussed, but tlio decision of the meeting was held over until the following Tuesday to enable tlio secretary (W. McLean) to obtain fuller particulars. It Avas decided that all die scouts in tiie V Invercargill troop avouUl be drafted into a separate club room,'' in order to bo trained under patrol leader Kelly for the “ tenderfoot tost ” Avhich has to be passed by all boys before they can become B.P. scouts.

Very satisfactory reports were received from the secretary concerning tiie result Of the recent scout concert and demonstration Avhich came off very successfully in Ashley’s Hall on Nov. 2nd. It Avas decided, upon tlio motion of Scoutmaster Broker, Hi at an Invercargill firm bo authorised headquarters for Southland for the supply of scouts’ '.equipment. Several firms Avere mentioned, but none 1 was definitely decided upon.

The question of a football niatcli with Dunedin Boy Scouts on Boxing Day was discussed, but, owing to lack of definite Information, it was not finally decided.

It was then unanimously resolved that the IV and V Invercargill troops would leave headquarters at 2.150 on Wednesday afternoon for Thomson’s Bush, and there have an ,afternoon.’s scouting, the school scouts to follow, leaving at about 3 p.in. On Saturday afternoon the school scouts will mobilise tit th'e Water Tower and proceed, under B.M. Broker, either to the Waihopai Diver for swimming instruction or go out scouting across country.

Tlie Kangaroo Patrol meets on Wednesday evening for general patrol meeting and Instruction. Any gentlemen interested in the Baden Powell Scout Movement, or any hoys wishing to join it. will be cordially welcomed at any of the meetings held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m.
