CHAIU-VAY’S RETORT. The chairman rei'orted upon the following matters :—A sum of £SOO had been deposited at call with the Invercargill Borough Council. On receipt of Information from the District Engineer of Railways that the western wharf was in an unsatisfactory condition, he. in company with the engineer and the Railway Engineer, inspected the portion* of the wharf in question. ft was fount! that the piles were in a very bad state, and that t]ie old pari of the wharf was not safe for heavy railway traffic, and that it would he necessary for the Hoard to deal with the matter as- one of urgency. —Report adopted.
