MELBOURNE, Oct. 21. The weather was fine for the concluding day of the V.A.T.C. meeting and there was a large attendance. Results :— Ooy Hurdles. — Betrayer, Matong, Destroyer. Six started. Bettingeven money on Betrayer, 5 to 1 Matong, ' 6 to 1 Destroyer. Won, by two lengths. Time, 4 min 10i secs. Gwyn Nursery. — lolaire, Lady Evelyn, Orleans. Twenty-three started. Betting—s to 1 against Gwynine, 6 to 1 lolaire, 7to 1 Lady Evelyn. The latter and lolaire were prominent to the straight, but inside the distance lolaire came with a great run and won by a head. Time, 58f secs. Caulfield Cup. — Marvel Loch (Hood), Warroo (Clayton), Torah (W. H. Smith). All started but Dandalla. Betting—4 ,to 1 against Torah, 5 to 1 Boabdil, 10 to 1 Marvel Loch and Maniapoto, 12 to 1 Emir, 16 to 1 Warroo, Rosemead and Pius. The first to move were Hatteras and Canteen. Passing the judge's box the order was Troy town, Hatteras, Maniapoto and Torah. Going out of the straight Maniapoto ran into second place ; Torah third. Passing Davis’s the order was Elvo,. Harmony, • Troytown. Along the back Hattras was second ;at the railway side Harmony took command, with Marvel Loch, Torah, Warroo and Scot Free moving for-

ward. Marvel Loch led into the straight from Warroo and Scot Free. The latter fell at distance and Marvel Loch, coming on full of running, won by two lengths, Torah four lengths away, Emir fourth, then came Overdale, Procedor, Elvo, Harmony, Dantzic, Marmont, and Rosemead, the back division consisting of Napoleon, Position, Troytown. Time, 2 min. 35J secs. Wynne Steeplechase. — Sweeper, Error, The General. Six others ran. Betting—7 to 4 against Sweeper. Loddin and Advisor fell at the hist fence. Won by four lengths. Time, 4 min. 49]- secs. Windsor Handicap. — Roycroft, Japhet", Al Kadr. Other starters : Gravity, The Amazon, Porapou, .Targoon, Hautboy and Molloro. Betting —even money on Japhet, 6 to 1 against Roycroft. A desperate finish, Roycroft gaining the verdict on the post. Time, 1 min. 151 secs.

Mooro Welter. — Circuit, Dandalla, Pendower. Nineteen others ran. Betting—4 to 1 against Circuit. At the distance Dandalla was in front when Circuit challenged and after a good finish won by half a length. Time, 1 min. 44 secs. LONDON, Oct. 20. Tho weather was line for the second day’s races, but the course was still very heavy. The double event tote on the Pearce Handicap and Hutt Park Handicap paid a dividend of £5O 10s to 14 investors. The tote returns’ for the day amounted to £8328, making £18,320 for the meeting as against ,£18,395 last year. Results :—

Hutt Park Handicap. — Ghoorka, Hinurewa, Starshoot. Time, 1 min. 37 1-5 secs. Dividend, £2 4s. Trial Stakes. — Pas Seul, Grand Poplar, Sir Percival.
