WELLINGTON, May 4
The N.Z. Rugby Union committee continued sitting till after midnight. Mr Hunter (Otago), moved that the opinion of the English Union be obtained as to the status of players whose wives received presentations.—Lost by 13 to 29.
It was announced that an oiler by New South Wales for two matches with the New Zealanders en route -to England was half the net proceeds, and, as the oiler was stilj open, the members of the colony’s team so far selected had .- been informed that a visit to Sydney would probably be undertaken. Mr Alason (Canterbury) moved that the matches bo.arranged in. New Zealand instead of Sydney. Mr Fache, the secretary, explained that the committee hud not decided to send the team to Australia, but if they did the team would return to New Zealand, and go to England by direct steamer.
