EAST INVERCARGILL. The installation was attended by the mayor-elect (Mr J- A. Mitchell), Councillors Ashton, Baird, Carnahan, Simon and Sloan. After the usual formalities Mr Mitchell said he felt proud of being elected to the position again after such a close contest. He would continue to do his best to conduct the business for the welfare of the borough, and he felt sure councillors would second his efforts, while he thought they would work harmoniously during the incoming term.
