Cricket Association

The usual nionthy meeting of the Southland Crictort Association committee was held on Monday night. Present. Messrs T. D. Kingsland (in the chair), C G. Wilson. H. Wbitlaw, A. l'oole I>. Wesney, J- Aspray and S. A. GiUer. Let- ■ ters were received from the fflu« and Waikiwi cluhs in regard to the match Waikiw v. Bluff juniors ami after taking all the circumstances into consideration, - it was decided that the. match be avmrded to Waikiwi, the committee being unanimous that there was ample time to finish the first innings. The I.C.C. protested against certain men playing for the Star Club ia the 2oTd uli., on the ground . that their subscriptions were not paid in accordance with the resolution at the Association' t passed on 2nd November.— lt was decided that as" it was the first case of the : b,ind that had cropped up, and ns the ! -money had since. been paid to +he I.C.C, i the match be awarded to the Star . but . in future •defaulters will toe dealt with in accordance with the rules. , In regard to the Otago match on Dec. 26 and 27 at Invercargill, jirraugements ■ were made to have the Eastern Reserve put in good order and it was decided' that ladies be admitted free to the ground. MrGr. G. Burnes' resignation of the position of selector of teams was accepted with regret and Mr G. C. Wilson was anpointed to fill the vacancy.
