The President says it i 9 not necessary to take the soimc precautions as taken with Tasmania, because tho outbreak has been promptly and thoroughly managed since 12th January ; also on. account of the number of sepai'ato towns and their widely separated geo« graphical positions ; further, on account of the extensive commercial relations and being the port of call of sevoral lines ol ocean steamers At the same time. Incoming steamers will be subjected to searching scrutiny.
