During the sales 65,000 bales wero cold for Home consumption, 58,000 for the Continent, and 4000. tor America, while 14,000 were held over. Compared with closing rates of the December Ber ies merinoß and low crossbreds were at par; line crossbreds Bhowed an advance of 5 por cent., ii some iustances higher. 'I he Waihora clip sold at 6gd and Gear at 7gd. The N.Z.L. and M.A. Co have received the following cablegram from their London office :- " Wool : The sales closed at about par to 5 per cent, higher for fine greasy crossbred and scoured merino ; about 5 pei cent, higher for greasy merino, super, medium and coarse greasy, and slipe and scoured crossbred, ai*d at about pir to 5 per cent, lower for medium aud info, ior greasy merino.^ The sales atj.the opening were strong, hut became weaker towards the close.""
