Discussing the question of Liberalism in a speech at Glasgow, Lord Onslow said he regarded Lord Rosebery as a foolish virgin refusing to trim the lamp which the LiberalUnionist party started. He had been regretting it ever since. Seven thousand We&loyans met at Westminster Aquarium to celebrate the acquisition of their new headquarters. Mr Perks, M.P. presided and expressed the hope that all sections of Methodists would be federated early in the century. Amelia Sach, aged 29, and Annie Walters, aged 54, the Islington babyfarmers, who were found guilty of murdering an infant for gain, were executed in Holloway gaol to-day. Both walked to tho scaffold unaided and displayed remarkable fortitude. It is expected that the Chancellor of the Exchequer will reduce the income tax but it will be impossible to reduce it to sixpence, owing to the naval estimates claims. Mr Alexander Grimraond, head of a Dundee jute firm, has bequeathed .6120,000 to chanties and religious institutions.
