The following applications for land were granted : — Hugh Keenan, section 6, block 8, Longwood ; William Bradley, sees. 108, 110 and 115, Takafclmo; John Arthur, part of seo. 13, block 15, Longwood (at same price as Government paid for land), and Samuel Clarke, sec. 2a, block 5, Wyndham. The following applications under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act were granted:— J, W. Wilson, 100 acres in bock •2, Longwood; Charles Wilson, 100 acres, same block; Harry Finn, 2 acres, same block; J. F. Butler, 100 acres, same block, and Mrs Alice Lapham, 100 acres in block 17. Jaoobs River Hundred.

On Mr John Moffett's application Harry Finn was granted exemption from residence on his section in block 2, Longwood. The following transfers were approved : — Sec. 731, Hokonui-Centre Bush, from Jas. Campbell to J. W. Snell, and sac. 16, Hook 4, Longwood, from Mrs J. C. Vigors to Mrs R. S. Finlayson. John Daley's surrender of sections in block 6, Waimatuku Township was accepted. It was resolved that the owner of sections 69 and 83, block 5, Invercargill Hundred, be called on to show cause why the section should not be forfeited for non-residence and insufficient improvements. Forfeiture was rescinded ih the following cases— C. S. Smith, section 57. Waiau ; Alex. Cdlder, sections 7 and 8, block 5, Waikawa ; F. H. Wilson, seotion 13, block 5, Hirstfield, and H. Hirst, section 30, block 4, Longwood. J. D. Shepherd applied for grazing license over 300 acres in block 10, Oteramika Hundred.—Approved at £1 per annum, subject to Mr Massey's written consent being obtained.
