Wool Sales.
(Peu United Pbess Association). Dunedin, Jan. 29. Tho first wool sale of the season was held to-day when about 19,300 bales wore offered. There was a large attendance of local and foreign buyers. Fino halfbred and merino, s litable'for local mills wore in specially strong demand. Strong lustrous Lincoln and Leicester were also in improved demand and all these sorbs made a good improvement on last year's prices. . Coarse low grade halfbred were hard to quit at comparatively low values. Greasy merino brought GJd to 10,{d, halfbred fleece s^d to 9£d, crossbred 4^d to 7gd. Compared with last season's prices all sorts, low halfbrod wools oxcepted, established an advance of Id to l£d per lb.
