The steamer would require to be ot from sooo tons to 4UGO tons register, and to hare suitable refrigerating .acoororuodation for the conveyance of frozen Meat nod Dairy Produce. It is also desirable that passenger accommodation should be provided, and applicant!* will be required to state what passenger accommodation would be available. The steamers would be required to leave New Zealand about once every sis (6) weeks; steamers calling at not> less than three (S) nor more than six (8) New Zealand ports, such ports to be named in oondltlons of oontract. From the lloal port the steamers would proceed to Fremantle, Wefttralia, and thence to Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth and Capetown. It is necessary that the draught of steamers when loaded should be stated, as it is oealrable that it should be suoh as would enable them to enter South African ports and proceed to the usual wharves. In computing the subsidy - required it would be a condition that the rates of freight upon all cargo should not; exceed those ruling between the colony and London by the ordinary steatnthip lines.
