Captain Johanessen reports latting Maiden bland on 83rd October, fine and head wether, wich variable winds, down to Bast Oap*. During the height of the gale tiro backstays were carried away, also two lower toptailf, foresail, jib and spanker, and boom, damaged the mala rig-ring and carried away one of tte mainfUjfe The gale abated on 24th November, and slight winds succeeded, but oa the 80th shs met a flesh B.W. gale and put in at Port Chalmers tor repair*. After effecting these ehe left in tow of the Thereta Waid on 18th inst at 6 p.m. The onw of the barque Allegiance, bound from the Clyde to Bydney with genual cargo, have been balled at Capetown.
