(Pkk Pkkss Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 12. The Canterbury A, and P. Association will hold a winter show during the week commencing 27th May. The show will include fat stock, milking, butter-making, weight-guessing competitions, and an exhibition of working collies. The ram and ewe fair will be held on 14th and loth March. The committee voted a bonus of £50 to Mr Murphy, who has resigned the position of secretary, which he occupied 22 years. The Executive of the Trade 9 Councils Conference has decided to luako a representation to the Pz-emier by the following resolution respecting the Royal Commission on Australian Federation :— "This executive claim that the workers of this colony are entitled to representation on this Commission, and respectfully press this upon your consideration, as it in strongly of opinion that the result of the Commission would not bo as acceptable if they (the workers) are not directly represented by bona fide workers." Before the Chief Justice to-day application was made by the Press Association for an intorim injunction restricting the proprietors of tho Wairarapa Standard from publishing the Association's cable news. The grounds of the application wore that tho Standard did not belong to the Association, ami though the proprietors had written to the Association's solicitors undertaking not to publish the cables, in defiance of this promise they had repeatedly appropriated news, contrary to tho provisions oi the Electric Lines Act. The application was granted, and unless tho decision is subsequently reversed, it establishes the right of the Association to protect its copyright by action in the Supreme Court, as well as by proceedings in the Police Court. Mr Hogg said it was time the Board put its foot down on the closing of schools on the most frivolous pretexts, which was demoralising to the scholars and repugnant to parents. It was decided to send a circular to committees and teachers informing them that tho Bchools must not be closed so frequently and drawing attention to the rule with regard to reductions in salaries for unauthorised holidays. Tho boilermakers' dispute came before tho Conciliation Board this njoruing, but the proceedings foil through owing to the failure of the Uiuon to comply with tlio Act in regard to taking a ballot of members on the question of reference of tho dispute to the Board. At tho Education Board's meeting leave of i absence was asked by the Board's inspector to attend tho departmental conference in j January. It having beon stated that the | Board had not been communicated with, Mr I Mackenzie characterised it as another attempt to wipe out Boards. The necessary leave was, however, granted.
