The National Mortgage and Agency Co. report having held their fortnightly sale on Tuesday, 24th inst, at Wallacetown. The entry was very large, the yards being taxed to their utmost. There was good competition for anything out of the ordinary. Cattle—l2s; fat and 138 store entered. Prime tat bullocks brought L 7 to L 7 17s 6d : others, L 4 10s to L 5 15s. Store cattle—Enquiry for these was very dull and the greater part were turned out unsold. ~ Sheep—l76l fat and 4393 stores yarded. We sold a line of prime fat maiden ewes and wethers at 12s 3d (top price). The ruling prices for fat were—Good, 10s 6d to 12s ; medium, 9s to 10a 6d ; others, 7a to 8s 6d. Store aheep—Wethers, 10a 6d to 12s for very forward; others, 9a 6d to 10s 6d. Ewes ; A large part of these were full-moutded and broken. Breeding ewea changed hands at 5s to 9a; boilers, 2a to 2s 6d; lambs, forward, 8a to 8a 6d; lighter, 6a to 7e 6d. Produce—The oat market shows very little sign of change. There has been a fair demand for the North Island, and for Home shipment, but the Australian demand is very alack and until thia market takes more we are afraid there ia email chance of a rise. Wheat.—Quality now offering ia not so good, and we underatand local millers have pretty nearly filled their requirements for the present. Themar«etis therefore slightly easier. Good milling ia worth 2a 3d to 2s 4d at mill; fowls wheat (whole), la 9d, eaoks on; terms Barley.—A little offering, bnyers paying up to 2s Cd, on trucks, for beat Southland ; Lake grown, 6d to. 9d extra Ryegrass.—A little still offering. We cannot report any movement during tho week; price la 3<S for seed from tho mill to la 9d for farmers’ dressed Linseed.—Owing to Calcutta seed offering cheap the price obtainable this year, notwithstanding the small crop, ia not so good as last season's.
