The currency of the Debentures will be for fourteen years from Ist September 1898; they will bear interest at the rate of £4 per £lOO per annum payable halfyearly on the Ist day of March and Ist day September m each yea*. Principal and interest will be payable at the Bank of New Zealand Invercargill. The security for the debentures will be the lands and buildings of the Invercargill Athemeum and the rents and revenues derived therefrom, and each Debenture and each Coupon thereof, wall be a debt of the said Athemeum to the holder thereof. No tender below par will be considered and any tender will not necessarily be accepted. A deposit oi 5 per cent on ths amount tendered for must accompany . each tender, (to unaccepted tenderers this will be returned) the balance will be required to be paid on issue of the debentures not later than Ist September 1898. The deposit of 5 per cent will be forfeited in the event of any tenderer not taking up the debentures allotted to him. Tenders addressed to the “President of the Invercargill Athemeum” and endorsed “Tender fur Loan” will be received at the Athemeum until 5 o’clock p.m. on Saturday the 30th July, 1898.
