Major-General Carrington’s expedition against the rebels in the Matoppo Hills consists of 3200 men, including friendly natives, and it set out on its mission on Friday last. The irnpis on the hills consist chiefly of Mohalis under Matabele leaders. They have been destroying tho grain crops and thus rendered a famine imminent. The authorities, however, are opening the road from Fort Salisbury to Umtali, and have arranged for the supply of six months’ provisions for 2000 men. The Right Hon.
