United Press Association.— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ] Received 16th, 8 p.m. London, July 15. In their first innings Leicestershire scored 87 runs—Holland 41. Requiring 497 to save an innings defeat they followed on and had the good luck to make a drawn game, though the position was much against them. In the second essay Marriott scored 36, Poughor 26, Gleeson (not out) 53. When the game was drawn the home team had only one wicket to fall and yet had 317 to get to save the innings’ defeat. In the county match Essex defeated Yorkshire. In first innings of Leicestershire Giffen took 8 wickets for 30 and in the second 6 for 99.
