Fat Sheep— 242S penned, the majority Being only fair quality. A few pens of prime wethers met with keen competition, but for other sorts sales were much more difficult to make at prices equal to last week's. Prices all round were no better. Best crossbred wethers, 13s to 14s 3d— one or two pens up to 15s 9d: medium wethers, 10s 6d to 12s 9d; oihers, 8s 6d to 9s 9d ; best heavy ewes, 103 to 12s 3d— a few very heavy, 13s <sd; medium ewes, 8a 6d to 9s 9d ; Others, 7s 3d to 8a 3d. Pigs— ls9 penned and sold in favour of buyers; suckers at 2s 6d to 6s: slips, ?s to 9s; stores, 12s to 16s; porkers, 18s »o 235; baconers, 25s to 295"; some heavy pies, 33s to 40s. Wheat— The improved demand has been well sustained and all parcels of prime milling are readily quitted. Prime velvet still receives most support from millers, but all good milling is well competed for. Prime velvet milling, 33 9d to 3s lid ; prime Tuscan, 3s 8d to 3s 9d; medium milling, 3s 5d to 3s Sd; fowl feed, 3s to 3s 4d— sacks extra. Oats— The outlook is uncertain, but with stocks getting low on the other side shipments are expected to be shortly made. The local sales show a decline of id per bushel. Sutherland and long Tartars, Is lid to 2s 2d; sparrowbills, good to best feed, Is 9Jd to Is 9fd; do extra, clear and bright, Is 10s to Is lOjd; medium to good feed, Is BJd to Is 9d— sacks extra. Barley — The market is stagnant and values are, if anything, easier.
