The defendants claimed that the company was domiciled in England, and that it had been reconstructed under the English Joint Stock Companies Act, and that plaintiff had consented to the arrangement. Plaintiff denied having consented to the arrangement. The court held that the English Act was not made to apply outside Great Britain, and the pljea of the English arrangement could not prevail against an action brought in the colony for moneys deposited in the colony. News has been received from New Guinea of the suicide of Wilson, who recently abducted a halfcaste girl, stole a lugger and sailed away. He saw a lugger approaching and thought it was a Government vessel. To avoid capture he took poison, and tried to induce the girl to do the same.
