Tothill, Watson and Co. report. We held our monthly stock sale at Winton on Thurel day, Ist inst. About 3500 sheep were entered andalwere disposed of at prices slightly easier than those ruling at the previous month s sale. The rough weather no doubt was the chief cause, and on the day of the sale there was a very general covering of i snow round the district. There was a large attendance>of farmers, and good stock were well competed . for. Hoggets formed a very large proportion of the entry, best selling at from 8s Id to 8s 4d ; medium, 6s odto 7s Cd; small, from 4s lOd to 5s Gd ; mixed crossbred, fat, from 10s 6d to Ils lid; store ditto, 6s 5d to 8s 6d , crossbred ewes in lamb, best from 9s to 10s, aged and ffih'we’ held our fortnightly sale at Wallacetown. There was a good entry of fat istock, but very few stores forward. Fat Cattle—77 head v'irdcd Best bullocks sold from L 9 to LJ ios, medium to good, L 7 to L 8; light, L 5 2s 6d to L6AOs ; best cows, up to L 9; good, L 6 10s to L 7 5s , light and medium, L 4 5s to L 5 12s 6d. . Fat Sheep—ls 73 penned. The demand was not quite so brisk as last sale, and prices were from 6d to Is per head easier for some linos. Best wethers brought 12s to 13s ; good, 11s to Ils 9d ; P r J’" e ewes 13s 5d ; good, 10s to Ils 6d. Store Sheep—slB penned. The majority were hardly fib for putting turnips, consequently the demand was dull. Hotels brought up to 8s 6d for best, and smaller from 5s to 7s 6d. Store Cattle-42 head yaraed Dairy cows sold at from L 4 to L 5 ; yearlings, from 25s to 30s. Wool, skins, Hides, tallow, ta—At our weekly:skin sale on Holiday we submitted a good catalogue to the usual number of buyers, and sold dry crossbreds up to 3s lid; light, from Is to 2s 6d; dry menuo. Is 4d to lend. Rough fat fls 3d, and tallow 13s6dper cwt Medium hides, 4s 3d each.
