Wanted: Weather Reports
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —It is a matter of much comment in town that if information as to the weather in the country is wanted one has to wire for it. We now hear vague rumours of a crushing fall of snow in the interior, but no reliable news is to hand. It would not be asking very much to have a weather report put up at the Post Office on occasion of any extreme weather. Telegrams from such centres as Gore, Waikaia, Lumsden, Athol, Kingston, and Queenstown, with perhaps Merrivale and Nightcaps, would give city men interested in pastoral property some early intimation of much sought for facts. -■I am, &0., Interested.
