Colonial stocks generally have declined ope per cent. The butter market is demoralised, Choicest Danish is fetching 104 s to 112 s per cwt; choicest Australian, 104 s to 108 s; seconds, 75s to 90s, but difficult of sale. The imports for November were 1600 tons above those of last November, the total increase during the eleven months of the year being 11,000 to is. New Zealand butter is now arriving frozen, that process of keeping it proving a great success, Australian, ’ SYDNEY Dec. 10. Sir Henry Wrixon, of Victoria, has returned from his visit to the United States. He inquired closely into labour and Socialistic matters, and, in reply to questions put to persons well informed on those subjects, obtained their written views. He believes the working men of Australia have more power and comfort than those of America, where much agitation prevail’. Mr Gavin Scott has seen the chief railway companies and corporations of Britain and considers there are good prospects for an extensive Australian timber trade. Mr Scott has already secured orders.
