LONDON, Nov. 30. The Russian Government having ordered the closing of a Roman Catholic church in a Polish town the troops expelled the congregation, killing 20 and wounding a hundred. The remainder fled, but were pursued by Cossacks and many of them drowned while crossing a river. The capture of King Lobengula is again reported. In the Privy Council the appeal case Black v. the Christchurch Finance Company, judgment has been reserved. [ln the Supreme Court, Christchurch, Mr Black, a farmer at Akaroa, sued the Finance Co for damages alleged to have been sustained by him by reason of a fire lit upon the company’s property spreading to his land and destroying his crop of grass seed, and obtained a verdict for LI6OO. The company then carried the case to the Court of Appeal, where the judgment of the Supreme Court was reversed, Mr Black then appealed to the Privy Council.]
