H The cup match I.C.C. v. Star was con■j eluded yesterday afternoon in the presence ;pf a large number of spectators ; the ladies ' apparently taking as much interest in cricket :!?as in politics. The Star, with. 8 . wickets down for 30, continued their innings and were disposed of for the addition of 10 runs. Following on, -they made a much better stand at the commencement of their second • innings, the score at the fall of the fourth wicket being 86, but the tail broke down, ./and the score only,reached 105. The field-, ing of the I.C.C. was far from being perfect and it behoves the members to practice this important branch of the game. The I.C.C. won by an innings and 27 runs, the scores being as follows: —■

The match, Southern Cross Club v. I.C.C. second elevens was won easily by the latter. The Cross team, batting first, were all disposed of for 37—Stead 15, Inglis 10. The I.C.C.' made a much better stand, making 61 —Pratt 18, R. Scandrett and Taylor 9 each. In their second try the Cross team only managed to put together 28, which left the • I.C.C. five to get to win, which were added by G. Purdue for two strokes. They thus won by 10'wickets.
