Auctioneers’ Reports The J. G. Ward Farmers Association, Ltd., report having held their fortnightly stock sale at the Invercargill yards on Tuesday. The entry of fat cattle was a small one but turned out to be quite sufficient for requirements as a few pens were not sold. Best bullocks brought up to L 9 10s ; medium, L 7 10s to LB, and cows, L 5 to L 3. Store Cattle—Only a medium entry, but the demand was slack and only at a considerable drop in prices could sales be made. Dairy cows, of which there was a fair entry, were in demand and we got up to L 6 7s. for best newly calved sorts, and L 5 for medium quality. Sheep—Only a moderate entry and no special heavy lines forward. 'Medium wethers in the wool brought 15s, and dry ewes up to 15s, while best.shorn eheerp brought 13s. We sold 25 fat ewes at 15s Id, 52 wethers at 15s Gd, 435 hoggets at Ils 3d, 97 do at 12s lOd, and others at above rates. Horse Market—On Saturday we had a large entry, including several good young upstanding light harness horses, for which there was keen competition at prices ranging from L 25 to L2l for best sorts. Medium and small ranged from Ll2 to Ll 5; draughts were rather dull of sale at Ll 5 to L 23. At our Saturday’s sale we will offer a shipment of horses from Victoria, which have been landed in good condition and may be inspected at the Union Hotel Btables ; also a consignment from the north. There was a very poor attendance at the junction yards, doubtless owing to it being election day, and also a small entry of all classes. Fat Cattle—43 head entered and little demand, the bulk of the entry being passed at auction, and anything sold did not bring 25s per 10011); best heavy weight bullocks up to L 8 10s to L 9 ; lighter, L 7 to L 8; prime heavy cows to L 8 10s; lighter, L 0 5s to L 7 7s 6d. Store Cattle—Good entry, but no buyers, and very few sold at about late prices. Store cattle are still in demand. We have sold a considerable number during the week at late prices. Fat Sheep—About 500 entered ; market dull. Best ■wethers to 15s 6d; heavy ewes to 15s Id ; shorn wethers to 12s l()d. Store Sheep—About 1600 entered ; very little demand. Best hoggets brought up to 12s lOd for a Small lot; 500, Ils 4d, and a pen at 9s 9d. Skin and Fat Sale—Our entry was very heavy, and every lot was cleared at full prices.
