(Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 28. John Swaney, the Coromandel miner who fell from a Waikato train, has died of his injuries. WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. A man named Barns stepped off the kerb on Lambton Quay just as a cab came by and was hurled to the ground. A wheel passed over his right leg, breaking it, and his head was also severely injured. At Karori, Edward Monaghan, farmer, was thrown from a horse and so seriously injured that his life is despaired of. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 25. Two members of the torpedo corps were drowned in Lyttelton harbour this afternoon. The launch bad just left Ripa Island for Lyttelton when she gave a heavy lurch and capsized, and J. McKenzie, who was in charge, and F. G. Hamilton, the engineer, were thrown overboard. McKenzie sank immediately, and it is surmised that he was struck by the propeller. Gunner Blanchard sprang overboard and supported Hamilton till assistance arrived, but life was then extinct.
