Complaint.
-* TO THK EDITOR. Sir, —In canvassing South Invercargill (where population is scattered) in aid of the family of the .late Robt. Millard, I would like to point out the ridiculous way some people have of treating those who go round with the list. Fancy going to a house and presenting the Ust ; a lady at the door takes it to the head of the house and returns it with the kind remark—" If you call at Mr So-and-So's office he will give you something towards it." Now surely it ought to be {mtent to any sensible person that canvassers ike myself, who do the work gratuitously cannot be expected to run into town and hunt all over the place for Mr So-and-So's offioe, especially when bis name and amount could have been put down there and then, if he wished to give anything. — I am, &0., J. AiflWEnjim 16th Sept., 1891 .
