Keep the Best
Some experiments rtcently mad* by Pro- I fessor Whitcaer, of the new Hampshire ! Experimental Statiorj, ibow the marked difference, in a monetary tense, that there is between good and bad dairy cowr. The Professor found that the best cow in kit herd produced milk at a cost of ) 4 pence per quart, while the milk from his poorest cow cost him 2-13 pence, or luore than double. When fed on a richer ration the cost of prcdnction with the best cow was reduced to '76 pence per quart, while with the same cow fed on a poor, innutritious ration, tfce coit went ap to 2*77 pence per quart.
