LONDON, Jan. 9. Mr Sexton is proceeding to Boulogne to have an interview with Mr Parnell. The Bank of Eugland reserve amounts to L15, 532, 000— the percentage of reserve to liabilities being 39 92 per cent. Consols, 96£. New Zealand 4 per cent, stock is quoted at 106, three and a half per cent stock, 94£. Three months' bills, 2£ per cent. South Australian wheat is quoted at 37s 9d per quarter — market firm. For wheat on passage sellers ask 37s 6d, and buffers offer 6d less. Canterbury frozen mutton is quoted at 4 116 th pence per lb; Wellington at 3 13 13ths pence per lb ; and Canterbury lamb at 4gd per lb. [The N.Z. L. and M.A. Company have received the following cable : — " London, Jan. 9th.— The mutton market is firmer; Canterbury is worth 4&d ; Wellington, 3|d per lb. Beef — New Zealand fore quarters, 3§d ; hind-quarters, 3£d per lb - market quiet.] Colonial oats, fine average, 26s 6d per quarter. Adelaide wheat is quoted at 39s per quarter, and Victorian at 38s 6d — in each ca.se with a tinner market. Svgar — German beet, 12s 4£d per cwt; Java cane, 15s. Pig iron, f.o.b. on the Clyde, 46s 6d per ton. The German-Australian Steamship Company are adding a 4000 ton steamer to their fleet. It is intended to despatch a steamer to Australia every three weeks. Mr lialfour's Irish relief fund now amounts to LI 1,000. Mr O'Brien denies that Mr Parnell has agreed to retire from the leadership of the Irish party provided he (Mr O'Brien) accepted the position thus vacated. The directors of the railway companies whose employes are out on strike reject all offers of mediation. The men wild have taken the place of the strikers are overworked, and, as a consequence, accidents ! are of frequent occurrence.
