SYDNEY, May 22. A painful scandal has been disclosed here, a leading Presbyterian minister and former Moderator being accused of too intimate relations with a lady member of his congregation. Divorce proceedings are being instituted. The delinquent went to New Zealand during the early part of this month, and it is believed joined the s.s. Alameda bound to San Francisco. MELBOURNE, May 22. Parliament was opened yesterday. The Governor's speech congratulated the colony on its prosperity. It referred to Federation, which it declared was vnot. due either to danger from foreign foes or internal embarrassments, but had come of itself. A number of measures of industrial concern are promised to be submitted to the consideration of the House during the session.
