Higbam, 58, Brougham street, West Gorton, near Manchester, relates a mo^t remarkable incident respecting her daughter, aged 12 years, who fell and injured her knte go badly that her medical attendants, in consultation, decided vbst it would be necessary to perform an operation on the knee, to ie« pace certain ligamentß which had bern severely injured and distended. To this tfce family strongly objectel. She was taken to the Sontb.ern Hospital, Clifford utreet, Oxford road, where the combined medicr.l faculty decided it was a case of paralyais of the knee, and that she would doubtle*s never walk again. She was accordingly discharged aa incurable, a confirmed cripple. Some time after this her parents were induced to try St. Jacobs oil, which greatly benefited her. In a month ske began to walk with the aid of a stick, and three weeks later she was able to walk as well as ever, being perfectly cured. This was in June, I#B6, but the mother did not make the fact known to the proprietors of St. Jacobs oil until December, 10, 1886, as the doctors told her at the hospital that it would not be a permanent cure, but as the child had continued strong and well for over a year and a half, she felt perfectly cafe in statiDg that a complete cure had be ;n effected solely and wholly by the use of St. Jacobs oil. The mother states that the doctors ard others who did not think she would e*er walk again have called to see her, for they could hardly believe tbßt a cure had been effected
